It is difficult to infer the antiquity of this idol. The disease of King Ajaypal was cured by water used in bathing this idol. He, therefore, settled this village, and got the idol formally installed in the temple. Hundreds of ancient stepped-wells are present here. A bell found here bears the carvings. ‘Shri Ajahara Parshvanath, the year 1034 of the Vikram era, Raichand Jechand Shah’.
This proves that this is a very ancient place which was prosperous, The water used in bathing the idol, cured the disease (ajar) of the king. devotees, therefore, know Bhagawan by the name of Ajahara Parshwnath. Even today, many diseases of faithful devotees are cured by the water used in bathing the idol and miracles happen.
The water used in bathing the idol is regarded by Jains and non-Jains an nectar. In the present times fair are held here every year on the fifteenth day of the bright half of the month of Kartak, on the fifteenth day of the bright half of the month a Chaitra and on the tenth day of the dark half of the month of Magsar.
