Enroute from Shri Kumbhojgiri Tirth:

• Panhala 55 Kms A little visited hill station, Fort, Panhala Caves and other Caves.

It is difficult to get a historical record of this tirth. But it is an ancient tirth. The Svetambaras of Maharashtra regard it is an ancient tirth. They regard it as the Setrunjaya of South Maharashtra. This temple was renovated many times. Its last renovation was accomplished on the seventh day of the bright half of the month of Magh in the year 1926 of the Vikram era.
